How Response Loop Works

The Response Loop operates using a series of triggers, which start the Response Loop performing its various actions. Each action or sequence of actions is run over a period of timed intervals, each interval relating back to the time it was initiated. The Response Loop will continue running until one of two things happens—either time expires and the last interval is reached, or a second trigger shuts the Resopnse Loop down before the expiration. Either scenario can be appropriate, depending on the type of campaign and the desired response.

The triggers, referenced as an initiator and terminator, are directly linked to something contained within the record. The most common trigger is a status trigger, meaning that when a record’s status is changed to a particular value, the Response Loop kicks on and goes to work, but this is certainly not the only trigger available. Status, source, rating, campaign, number of dial attempts, as well as the time zone, city, or zip code of a particular record can also act as a trigger.

The trick to ultimately using Response Loop effectively is to remember each campaign’s unique set of triggers, and the actions that take place between initiation and termination. Most site admins who use the Response Loop find it very helpful to create flow charts of each campaign, designating the actions that need to take place and the intervals at which they should happen. We highly recommend that you take the time to do this before building your first Response Loop campaign.

Another useful tip is to set up any needed content for distribution before hand, including emails, voice messages, or fax templates.
