Response Loop Setup - Basic Options
The physical setup of a Response Loop is fairly straightforward, at least on an input level. We’ll focus on the strategic elements in just a minute, but first let’s just get the basics covered.
First, give your campaign a good, easy-to-reference name (believe it or not this makes a big difference when you start needing to manage entire blocks of Response Loops together). Next set the interval type to the most appropriate time range. Daily is by far the most common option, though for short-term response campaigns minutes can be useful, while weeks and months are obviously for longer-term options. Keep in mind that the interval type is always incremented going forward from the time the Response Loop initiates.
Next, set the Applies To based on which user’s leads you would like the Response Loop to act on. This is based on two things:
1. Which user is the owner of the records, and
2. If the owner of the record has a Response Loop license (called Enrollment Campaign).
One common mistake administrators make is they assume that if they set an Response Loop to apply to “My Company’s Leads” that the Response Loop will automatically work company-wide, but if some users of the system don’t have a Response Loop license assigned to them in the Billing Information, then the Response Loop will pass over those users. Refer to the Billing Information section if you need to add or assign additional Response Loop licenses.
Next, we will need to set the Initiate and Terminate Campaign options. Typically, both the initiate and terminate options are set to “Enter”, meaning that we will trigger the Response Loop to start when the file enters some particular criteria, and then terminate when the file enters some other set of criteria. However, depending on the type of campaign, the needed flexibility, and / or the actions you want to take place we could just as easily set the initiation and / or termination to “Exit.” Don’t worry about editing the criteria right now, we will look at those in just a second.
Now that we’ve set the basic parameters, click the Save Campaign button to save our options, and then open up the advanced setup features.
