Why does the Jabberdog only leave half of the recorded message when a Voice Mail activates it?

When a call is placed to the customer and that customer picks up, the JabberDog will begin to listen of course. Now when the JabberDog hears a pause in the message it will begin to play the recorded message. If there is a pause in a customer's voice mail then the JabberDog will think the message is over and now I'll start playing my message. This is probably why your message is beginning playing half way through the customers voice mail. The industry standard is about 70 percent recognition rate, which we are at that level. The voice recognition industry is just not precise enough to identify 100 percent of the time for the best spot to begin playing the recorded message.

I wouldn't recommend auto-voicemail function

Who do you know that actually returns automated calls? :O

Unless you're using this function as a Collections agency, these automated messages can destroy businesses rather than make them more efficient, be careful with these ;)!

In the past I've thwarted this by changing my automated message, the first 10 seconds being "Hi, this is an automated message from ____, please hold the line as we have an important message we wanted to share..." This just increases the probability that your actual message makes it to their machine in a clear manner.

Good Idea

That is a good idea about putting a disclaimer on the message that this is a pre-recorded message. That does provide a higher probability of playing the entire message to the answering machine.
